We acquired our first Bearded Collie in 1991 from Jane O'Leary in Chesapeake, VA. Five Oaks Montgomery Lee, better known as "Monty" was a wonderful pet and friend to our young children. He died at age 10 leaving us with an unbearable emptiness. Many people need time without a dog before getting another but we were anxious to find another Beardie. The day after Monty died, I found the website for Moonstone Bearded Collies. Breeder, Sandy McDonald had recently whelped a litter and we began dialoging about a new puppy for our family. Moonstone Kindred Spirit aka Sprite joined us in June of 2001. Sandy introduced us to agility which opened us up to the world of dog performance and competition. Britannia Never Look Back, aka Celia joined us a year and a half later. Michele Ritter helped us get started in conformation and has been a great souce of support and information since then. Most recently, we have added Britannia Runaway Angel, aka Vickie, who is Celia's fawn daughter. Each of our dogs brings something different to our pack and each dog is working on individual goals.
We will be relocating sometime this year to Louisa County, VA. Vickie will be training and competing in Conformation and Rally, Celia is focusing on Obedience and Tracking. Sprite is working towards is MACH in agility. We are planning to breed Celia again in Fall, 2008 and we hope to keep a boy from Celia's next litter.
