Tracking is something we are just starting. We are taking a beginners class now and Celia is excelling. In tracking, the dog uses her natural sense of smell to follow a trail that has been made by someone. In the beginning, food is used to reward the dog for staying with the trail but soon they track the trail and find a glove or wallet at the end, with a reward to follow. Rick and I practice during the week with Celia at a nearby park. This is another activity that owners can enjoy with their Beardies for fun. If you like it, you can pursue a tracking dog title (TD) and beyond.
